I'm going into a basic math corse next semester, and what are some ways to give ansers to insturctors? Can math be type on teh computer, or is writing on the brailler my only option?

Should of reviewed that before I posted it. Zone should have a spell check button.

First, proofreading is always a good idea and you don't really need a spell check button, just go back in to your post and listen to it, it will sound wrong: insturctors? vs. instructors? or teh vs the sounds different and by the sound of it you can arrow back and fix it. It's no excuse to not go back also I've set my jaws to words so when I type words I could also first know it sounded weird and I can go back right away vs. going back later.

To anser your first question. what assistive technology do you use and what do you have access to? No, I don't recommend the perkins unless you must do it old school because it's cumbersome and inconvenient not to mention very noisy! so, I would save that as a last resource. Do you have an embosser around campus or very much accessible to you in your area? In your student disability center for example, if so .brf files are the way to go, probably the easiest method without having to go in circles and do as much work. The other option is typing it out on a word document on a braille pda or notetaker such as a braillenote, or whatever you might work on. understand, learn, and get familiar with your symbols and how to type them and work on typing them fairly quickly so you don't have to take ages and ages to do your math homework. The last option is a bit tough but doable if it's the last option. is to work on a word document on a computer using jaws. I don't really recommend this again, but it's better than the brailler. You could miss something somehow though, so be careful, I would also work on learning the system and being efficient on it as well.
